Synclavier – The sound-generating possibilities of a virtual instrument are almost endless, but of course there is a lot of work to be done. Some idea of the potential of the instrument can be drawn from the factory presets, of which there are a huge number of recorded ones, but they do not cover the entire spectrum of its capabilities. Some presets show just complex chains of samples, with a multifaceted and continuous “sweep” of the timbre. SEM – software emulation of one of the most famous Oberheim synthesizers – SEM. The virtual model perfectly combines warm musical tones reproduced with TAE technology with a full range of innovative features Prophet – The Prophet V virtual synthesizer contains two instruments: Prophet 5 and Prophet VS. Separate screen interfaces are also prepared for accessing them. Pigments – A very powerful wavetable virtual analog synthesizer – this is Pigments and it will change the way you create music. Turning the spark of imagination into sound is the most important, exciting part of making music. Pigments makes this process natural, intuitive and vibrant. OB-Xa – Recreates exactly the juicy sound of the Oberheim OB-Xa. An instrument that has long been lacking in the collection of the French company. The synthesizer is completely ready to create punchy bass, chic spatial pads and lush parts of electronic winds. The company notes that the OB-Xa V has been enhanced with a number of features that were not present in the original. So the synthesizer got the Stereo Spread function, built-in arpeggiator and more LFOs. Modular synthesizer – This huge modular system showed that electronics can be musical, so it is the catalyst for every synthesizer that we see today. We have revived the uplifting modular synthesizer that has dominated the music world since the 1960s. Mini – The instrument is an “expanded” as is customary at Arturia, a copy of the well-known Minimoog D. And, according to the already established tradition, some additional functions have been added to them, which were not in the original. Matrix-12 – Times are changing, and now all the capabilities of the original instrument have been transferred by Arturia engineers to the virtual Matrix-12 V. Jup-8 – The Roland Jupiter 8 synthesizer is perhaps the least intricate. Immediately after appearing on the music market in the early 80s, it instantly gained worldwide recognition and, despite its age, is still popular today. Nothing says 80s better than the DX7 sound. Our authentic synthesizer gives you all the same FM technology and sounds that an instrument that has taken a place in the history of keyboards and modern music provided. The ARP 2600 is a truly versatile sound creation tool that still takes its place in modern music. With a unique combination of semi-modular architecture and associated routing, the instrument became one of the most versatile synthesizers of the 1970s.īuchla Easel is the reincarnation of the iconic instrument that helped define the experimental modular synthesis of the West Coast movement in the early 70s. Our enhancements give the instrument significant enhanced capabilities for sound design and avant-garde music.ĬMI is the reincarnation of the first commercially available digital separator system in music history, the sonic powerhouse behind many of the early mega hits of the MTV era. We even went the extra mile and added new creative possibilities that weren’t available in those days.ĬS-80 – The virtual model can do everything the original could do, but in addition it has a modulation matrix and a multi-layer Multi mode, significantly expanding the potential of the instrument. As in all virtual instruments of Arturia, this model works with “pure” oscillators (no aliasing), that is, they do not have an internal “reflection” of frequencies from the upper limit of the range, leading to the appearance of parasitic sound tones.ĬZ – Models the Casio CZ-101 and CZ-1000, two iconic synthesizers behind many 80s pop hits. It adds a ton of new features that make it a tool for ages.ĭX7 – In 1983, DX7 changed the world of music. Today the DX7 V gives you the option to change it again. The last step really helps students visualize that percentages are still only parts of a whole, which was a concept many of my students struggled with. They wrote their Skittles colors in fraction form, converted it to percents and decimals, and also represented it on a hundreds chart. I have a huge stash of Skittles in my room simply because I need them at the ready when I want to use all the different activities!įirst, they took their skittles to work on some converting using hundreds charts. (For example, if there are two numbers after the decimal point, then use 100, if there are three then use 1000, etc. There are several activities in the packet for different upper grades concepts, and to be quite honest, I’m shocked I’ve never blogged about them before. To convert a Decimal to a Fraction follow these steps: Step 1: Write down the decimal divided by 1, like this: decimal 1 Step 2: Multiply both top and bottom by 10 for every number after the decimal point. You can find the templates and student instructions for these activities in my Skittles Math Printables. Fraction to Decimal 3 8 Divide numerator by denominator 0.375 37. Percent to Decimal Decimal to Fraction Fraction to Percent To convert a fraction to a percent - first convert to a decimal, then convert the decimal to percent. Therefore, 0.75 is equivalent to 75%.Finally, the absolute favorite activity involved Skittles! Even though they were enjoying candy while working, they worked so diligently to complete the assignment, and I was so proud of their hard work. To convert a percent to a fraction - first convert to a decimal, and then convert the decimal to a fraction.

The National Historic Preservation Act was passed in 1966 but it was too late to save one of the best-known and -loved buildings in Vienna Township. The 1871-1872 construction date of the Temperance House disproves this myth. Even local newspapers, such as the Warren Tribune-Chronicle, reported the building's use as an Underground Railroad station and an earlier construction date (see Jarticle, below). No written primary (first-hand) evidence documents the oft-told tale that the Temperance House was used as a "station" for the Underground Railroad, a secret organization of men and women willing to aid slaves from the 1820s through the 1850s in their flights to freedom in Canada. On January 9, 1867, Reverend Xenophon Betts, minister of the Vienna Presbyterian Church, and Township residents established a temperance association. Some thirty-two saloons, some mere shacks, sprang up around the mines, but other hotels located at Vienna Center had long served alcohol. The temperance movement lost momentum during the Civil War (1861-1865), but again gained steam during Vienna's coal boom in the late 1860s and 1870s. Voidwoken are drawn to the use of Source, which has led to the persecution of Sourcerers, primarily by an organization called the Divine Order, whose Magisters enforce their will. However, Lucian died before the start of the game, which weakened the Veil between the Void and Rivellon, and monstrous creatures of the Void known as Voidwoken are beginning to invade Rivellon. The Seven Gods of Rivellon had given up a portion of their collective Source power and infused it into a person, Lucian, who became what is known as the Divine, whose role is to use his powers to hold back the Void. Living beings on Rivellon have a form of energy known as Source, and individuals called Sourcerers can manipulate Source to cast spells or enhance their combat abilities. The game is set on the fantasy world of Rivellon, centuries after the events of the first game. The game features both on-line and local multiplayer modes, both competitive and cooperative. A skill crafting system allows players to mix and change their skills. The game also features a competitive multiplayer mode, where players are divided into two different teams and fight against each other in an arena map. Players are able to split up and individually control their party members, leading to potentially complex battle tactics, as well as excellent role-playing opportunities. Companions in your party are fully playable, and will potentially have different interactions with the environment and NPCs than the player character. Players are also able to create a custom character and choose their stats, race, gender, and origin story at the start of the game. They can recruit up to three companions to assist them. Players can play fully solo with only one character in their party or with up to three others. The game is described as being set in a “huge open world with hours of hidden content”.Several pre-made characters with backstories are available to the player. Multiple babies: Mothers carrying multiples may be placed on activity restriction simply because their pregnancies tend to be more challenging. If your cervix shortens early, you may need a cervical cerclage, which essentially stitches your cervix closed, and activity restriction is typically prescribed. Cervical changes: Your practitioner will monitor the length of your cervix during regular checkups with a transvaginal ultrasound (the wand inserted into your vagina) routinely if you are carrying multiples or have a history of incompetent cervix.Sometimes preterm labor stops - and the mother ends up giving birth at term. The goal generally is to try to delay delivery by at least 48 hours so that steroids that speed the baby’s lung development can be administered. Preterm labor: Moms-to-be who begin to contract regularly before week 37 of pregnancy or show other signs of early labor can expect to be placed on bed rest.Since the "cure" begins with delivery, the goal of bed rest is simply to prolong the pregnancy long enough to make sure that delivery is safe. Preeclampsia: Also known as pregnancy-induced hypertension (high blood pressure), preeclampsia may occur in up to 8 percent of pregnancies. There are also certain pregnancy conditions that may prompt your doctor to reduce your activity, however, there is little medical evidence to suggest efficacy:ġ0 Pregnancy-Related Complications Black Women Should Know About Why your doctor might prescribe activity restriction during pregnancyĬertain pregnant people are more likely to wind up on activity restriction, including those with certain chronic conditions. However, given the concerns about prolonged inactivity, doctors often take steps to ensure moms-to-be remain healthy by prescribing light physical therapy during patients’ stays, blood thinners and/or leg compression devices to prevent leg clots and physical therapy with prolonged hospitalizations. And just by nature of being in the hospital, you’ll be spending a lot more time in bed. Reduced activity at the hospital: Some pregnant people require constant monitoring, which means hospital admission. But in general, reduced activity outside the hospital means you’re still up and walking around, doing some work, easy errands and light chores. Reduced activity at home/work: Some practitioners may ask you to shorten your workday in your third trimester, schedule regular times to rest and restrict activities such as exercise, stair-climbing and walking or standing for extended lengths of time. But doctors today are moving away from these distinctions, instead recommending one of the following two categories depending on the severity of the pregnancy complication: Trusted Source Mayo Clinic Bed rest during pregnancy: Get the facts See All Sources In the past, bed rest was categorized as one of the following: scheduled resting, modified bed rest, strict bed rest and hospital bed rest. It’s estimated that activity restriction is still being prescribed in about 20 percent of pregnancies in the U.S. Bed rest - increasingly known as activity restriction - can mean different things to different doctors, from just getting off your feet every couple hours to a hospital stay. There are two main reasons to numb the skin: to reduce pain before an expected painful event and to relieve pain after the event has occurred. Some numbing agents are by prescription, some are sold over the counter, and others you may even find in your garden. There are both natural and medical ways to numb the skin that have different degrees of effectiveness. Or you may have a cut or burn and want to numb the skin for pain relief. You may want to numb the skin prior to a painful procedure like a cosmetic treatment or a tattoo. She has written for more than 20 companies in the fields of healthcare, skincare, and retail. There are a variety of reasons why you may need to numb your skin. If there’s any question, it’s always best to consult with a medical professional.Ībout the author: Yaffa Baslaw ( is a Freelance Writer with over a decade of experience copywriting and blogging compelling content. Since it can be used at every stage of your tattoo, it is also a wise choice for your wallet as you can use just one product instead of 2 or 3 for before, during and after.Īre there any side effects when using a tattoo numbing cream? Well, yes, there’s always that possibility, and those with more sensitive skin or any medical conditions need to do proper research when choosing a product. It’s 100% Vegan with luxurious ingredients such as Shea Butter, Mango, Green Tea, Coconut, Sunflower, Aloe Butter, Rice Bran Oil and Vitamin E. Not only do they consider it a top choice as a great numbing foam, but it also fits the bill as a great all-around product for before-and after-tattooing. Many tattoo artists have given their thumbs up for Hustle Helper. Depending on the other ingredients found in the cream, they sometimes leave behind an oily residue that can impact the consistency of the ink, causing it to look dull or dilute the color. Even with gloves, they could become a little less agile. Some products may affect your artist’s fingers. Ingredients do matter, so when you’re choosing a numbing foam or cream for your tattooing experience, look for the one with the highest quality ingredients, from a company with a solid reputation. If you are planning a very long session, you can discuss with your artist about the possibility of applying more cream as needed. Look for a product that takes effect quickly and will last a while, especially if you are going for a tattoo over a large area of your body, you don’t want the numbing effect to wear off mid-way through! Usually, the cream is applied to the area about 30 minutes before the tattoo session to allow it to take full effect. Certainly, the idea of ‘one and done’ is far more desirable than having to make another trip back to finish up the tattoo at a later date. It is unlikely that any product will 100% eliminate any pain or discomfort during tattooing, but for a majority of those who use them, they definitely do block out MOST of the pain.Īnother benefit to using a numbing cream is that it may allow you to sit for an extended period of time without needing to rest/stop the artist during the process, or break up the tattooing into multiple sessions. They work by blocking the pain signals sent by the nerve receptors of the skin, and in turn anesthetize the area where the cream is applied. Lidocaine, tetracaine, benzocaine, and sometimes epinephrine are the most common ingredients found in most numbing creams. There are plenty of tattoo numbing creams that are readily available by prescription, over the counter and online. Your best bet is to ask your tattoo artist if there is a product they favor, or suggest one you’ve found and see if they are open to using it. If you ARE in the market for a numbing cream before tattooing, be aware that not all the general topical anesthetic products found in the market are suitable for your needs during tattooing. They are also popular for piercing, waxing, and other forms of hair removal. In fact, numbing creams are used for many purposes beyond tattoos. Why be in pain when there are great products available to make the process of inking more pleasurable and less painful? Maybe you consider yourself a person with a high threshold for pain, or you like the idea of “toughing it out” or developing your “mind over matter” pain management techniques, but here’s the question that begs to be asked: How painful is it? That depends to some extent on the size of the tattoo and where it will be on your body. Whether you know from past experience, or you’ve asked around to get the honest truth, you probably know this by now, and it likely is not stopping you from taking the next step. I guess thats why Eric and Dan seem to held the top spot when it comes to this kind of thing. 60V MAX System 20V MAX System 12V MAX System. I feel that someone with his following and influence over others should really get his facts straight. Neither of which seem to be to be true since no one can confirm that a Dewalt employee actually ever said that. I just thought I would bring light to the fact since a few people have found his "knowledge" to be a little off on more than one occasion. "Dewalt is currently working on a 60v to 120V adaptor but it is still about 9 months or more away." "this item was At the Dewalt media event I inquired whether an accessory power cord was in the making, so users could plug into a power outlet for AC current." I guess my post was focused more towards the fact that we were told by Concord Carpenter that: It would require some wiring pigtails and switch modifications, but a guy with average electrical skills could make it work. If they had that, it would be possible to use the 120v Flexvolt miter saw adapter as long as you ran the table saw and vacuum together. The new tool I’d really like to see is a 60v Flexvolt shop vac that has a handle and wheels to be a Tough System base. I mainly use the 7 1/4” slider though, so it’s not a big deal. I went with the 718 corded 12” miter saw over the Flexvolt since I didn’t want to dedicate 4 batteries to it, but now that I have a bunch I wish I had gotten the Flexvolt instead. I have to agree, especially once you start adding extra Flexvolt batteries. They definitely have their place and nearly all who have the FlexVolt table saw have nothing but praise for it (outside of the on/off switch). If you will be ripping all day, then battery isn't for you. If you use a 9.0ah/3.0ah or the 12.0ah/4.0ah in the saw, it will easily rip 2x material. To be honest, most would not use it once you run it off batteries. I mentioned this in a post earlier, if they were bringing an adapter out it would be the biggest selling point for me but curious to how it would work myself like for example if I had a 110v dewalt vacuum will I be able to plug it into the power take off socket on the vacuum. Does anyone think Dewalt wont make an adapter and instead make a 120v table saw? Should they make both a 60v adapter and a 120v table saw? What do you guys think? Also what about the Europe market that runs on 240v? I wonder if the adapter for the table saw would work with other 60v tools. The miter saw didn't have this issue because it already was a 120v tool and needed no conversion. Don't know if we will actually get an adapter then. The reason Dewalt was unable to provide an adapter for the table saw was because of the added challenge converting 120v power to 60v. The video was posted on August 5th so I'm guessing in around 5 months we should at least get some more information about a power adapter for the table saw. He said look out for it in 9 months or so. Just watched a video about the FlexVolt table saw and the guy mentioned Dewalt is working on a power adapter for the table saw. |
